Department at M&S: I work in the Civil – Land Development department.
What I do here: Title Project Engineer/ Project Manager: Mostly what I’ve done since starting is learning and adjusting to development out in the country. Experience: My internships during college were unique in a way that I got to be a project manager very early on as the firm I worked for had three employees. So I got tossed to the fire very early which has lead me to where I am. Post-graduation I worked for a small firm (30 employees) on residential developments in Wichita Ks. I worked for that firm for 3 years before relocating to Kansas City with my family where I worked for Olsson Associates (1,000 employees). My title there was associate engineer, but I acted as project manager/ designer for numerous projects across the Kansas City area mostly on the commercial side of land development. Like I said previously, high rises, luxury apartments, and big box commercial. I’ve come from the school of being self-taught with my discipline in Civil 3D, Civil design, and project management. Learned, failed, and grown a lot in the past 7 years of my career.
Hobbies: My personal free time used to be filled with golf, and beer crafting when I was back in Kansas and had friends. Since moving to Texas a year ago, I’ve completed DIY home projects, done some amateur furniture wood working, shot some hogs, and enjoyed several glasses of whiskey.

School Attended/ Discipline: After high school, I spent 2 years in San Antonio taking my basics for engineering at UTSA and then I decided to pursue a career piping design. I spent 2 years at Houston Community College for drafting and design specializing in piping and mechanical design.
Experience: . It was the year 2008 and demand for piping designers was nonexistent, but I was able to land a CAD Technician position at CenterPoint Energy and moved up to be a Project Designer. After 6 years at CenterPoint Energy I moved on to other companies where I was able to advance my knowledge and skills in mechanical and distribution design.
Hobbies: When I’m not working, I spend much of my free time with family and friends doing mostly outdoor activities such as football, basketball, running, biking, fishing, kayaking, camping or just hangout and grill at the beach.
