M&S Engineering, L.L.C. seeks qualified electrical designer/engineer in Spring Branch, Texas to perform engineering and design duties which require application of engineering principles and knowledge of commercial building design. Duties and responsibilities include:
• Perform basic calculations such as load analysis and short circuit.
• Develop Panel Schedules and building circuitry
• Responsible for preparing plans, specifications, and estimates
• Create/modify design documents and drawings for a project, including one-lines, control schematics and wiring diagrams, specifications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, and generating bills of material
• Bring potential project-related problems and possible solutions to the attention of the responsible party
• Selectively coordinate overcurrent protection
• Design emergency power systems
• Review project submittals
• Respond to contractor’s RFI

• Experience in lighting design.

Requirements
• B.S. Electrical Engineering or related field
• E.I.T./F.E. required
• The candidate for this position must possess a minimum of two years of experience supporting commercial design projects.
• Knowledge of design documents and drawings necessary to complete a MEP design project
• Knowledge of relevant codes and standards such as NEC, IECC, IBC, and NFPA
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Job Description
M&S Engineering, L.L.C. has an immediate opening in Georgetown, Texas for a Civil Engineer with 10 to 15 years of experience in project management and business development. Potential candidates will be licensed in the State of Texas as Licensed Profession Engineer (PE) and will have experience in design and management of general Civil Engineering projects. The candidate will be responsible for managing and growing M&S Engineering’s Georgetown office, offering a full range of civil services focused on the public and private markets in and around the City of Georgetown.
Potential candidates will be able to demonstrate experience in designing and managing projects, including but not limited to, roadways, land development, water systems, storm water systems, wastewater systems, drainage and hydrology. Demonstrated experience should show knowledge of all technical design aspects of the project as well as effective project management. The candidate will also have excellent written, presentation and verbal skills as well as the ability to work in a team environment.

Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.

ROADWAY DESIGN ENGINEER
Job Description:
Perform engineering design for major roadway designs, roadway drainage, traffic, etc.
Manage and oversee the work of junior project engineer(s) and technician(s) in preparing plans for roadway and drainage design work using TxDOT and/or ASSHTO standards.
Responsible for preparing and overseeing the preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates.
Design elements will consist of horizontal and vertical geometry, roadway sections, intersection layouts, and sign distance determination, interchange layouts, signing and pavement marking plans, traffic control plans, roadway drainage, temporary erosion control, and right of way plans.
Proficient in preparing scopes, schedules, budgets, management of junior staff, and client communication.
Seal and signature as a PE; ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations and ordinances.

Requirements:
• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering
• Texas P.E.
• 20+ years experience having performed geometric design of roadways, preparing plans and specifications and computing quantities and design construction estimates
• 15+ years of managerial and process controls (scheduling, cost engineering and estimates etc.)
• Extensive knowledge of and experience with AASJTO Green Book, TxDOT Roadway Design Manual, TxDOT Roadside Design Guide, TxDOT Hydraulic Manual, and Texas MUTCD
• Proficiency with Microstation and Geopak
• Successful candidate must be capable to act as a supervisory engineer or deputy to Project Manager and work independently with minimal guidance

RELAY PROTECTION AND CONTROL ENGINEER
Job Description
Perform engineering and design duties which require application of engineering principles and knowledge of substation design. Duties and responsibilities include:
• Create/modify design documents and drawings for a project, including one-lines, three-lines, control schematics and wiring diagrams, relay panel arrangements and specifications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, and generating bills of material
• Design auxiliary AC and DC power systems
• Develop SCADA system and communications interfaces
• Work with project team to fully develop system integration of protection, control, and monitoring systems
• Perform basic calculations such as relay burden, voltage drop, and short circuit calculations
• Perform relay coordination studies and prepare relay settings
• Effectively communicate and coordinate project activities with manager, clients, and others as needed
• Proficient in preparing scopes, schedules, and budgets, and insure that schedules and budgets are met
• Responsible for preparing plans, specifications, and estimates
• Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to less experienced staff members

Qualifications
• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering
• Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas preferred, but not required
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in relay protection and control design of high voltage (15-345 kV) substations including:
o Knowledge of protection principles and practices for transmission lines, distribution feeders, and major substation equipment
o Strong knowledge of AC/DC fundamentals, including understanding of three-phase power systems
o Knowledge and understanding of substation components and their functions
o Knowledge of design documents and drawings necessary to complete a substation protection and control design project
o Knowledge of relevant codes and standards such as IEEE, ANSI, NESC, NEC, and NEMA
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to work closely with other engineering and design team members to coordinate overall design package and requirements

POWER LINE DESIGN STAKER

Responsible for surveying, staking and designing electrical distribution lines in accordance with the client’s specifications and standards. Some key responsibilities include:

• Completing detailed field notes/staking sheets and computer computations
• Working with Clients to ensure proper placement of power lines

Candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent and current Texas Driver’s License

Job Description:
Utilize level rod, prism pole or tape at designated points to assist in determining location and elevations of various features
-Lay out stakes for map-making, construction land, construction Electric Transmission/Distribution lines and other surveys
-Cut and clear brush and trees from line of survey with machete, brush hook or chain saw
-Carry instruments, field equipment, hammers, stakes, lathes, hubs, nails, etc.
-Keep survey crew vehicle supplied with equipment; clean and organize vehicle
-Carry out instructions and tasks assigned by Party Chief

Job Requirements:
-Ability to work outdoors with occasional extended hours.
-Willing to work locally or travel within the state of Texas.
-Must pass background check, drug screening and have an insurable driving record.
-Experience with boundary, topographic, as-built surveys, construction staking, ROW staking, staking electric distribution lines, staking electric transmission lines is a plus
-Familiarity with GPS and data collection.

CAD/DESIGN TECHNICIAN

M&S Engineering is looking for a Civil Engineering Design Technician to join its Civil Engineering Group in our Spring Branch, TX office. The candidate for this position must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience supporting engineering design projects. The Design Technician will work as part of a team under the guidance and direction of an Engineering Project Manager. Projects may include all aspects of civil engineering including site development, roadway construction; water distribution; sewage collection, pumping and treatment; and storm water. The CAD/Design Technician should be self-motivated and able to work on moderately complex multi-disciplined engineering projects. This individual should possess word processing and spreadsheet skills. Autodesk-AutoCAD experience is required and AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is preferred.
