Date Initiated: February 2006
Date Completed: January 2009
M&S provided engineering and project management for the relocation of 138kV and 345kV transmission lines as part of the City of Tyler’s roadway expansion projects that included removing/relocating twelve existing wood “H” frame structures and three 345 kV double circuit towers. The installation included the addition of five steel self-supporting mono-poles, and thirteen steel 138 kV mono poles. M&S prepared detailed cost estimates, transmission structure designs, line design, procurement, construction management, final project closeout and creation of final “as-built” drawings. Additional challenges of this project included extensive coordination with multiple pipeline companies, the City of Tyler, and roadway engineer.
