M&S Voted a Top Workplace
SAN ANTONIO (OCTOBER 26, 2014) – M&S Engineering is proud to have been selected by our employees as a Top Workplace for 2014. The winners were announced at an awards luncheon held at the Hyatt Regency in San Antonio, Texas, on October 23, 2014. The winners were also revealed to the San Antonio area in the Top Workplaces special section which published in the Express-News on Sunday, October 26, 2014.
The San Antonio Express News teams up with Workplace Dynamics, an independent research firm, to recognize the best places to work in the San Antonio area. Winning employers are chosen through employee surveys on a variety of workplace topics. Survey results are verified by an independent organization. When asked about how being named one of San Antonio’s Top Workplaces has impacted M&S, Keith Strimple, a principal and co-founder, responded, “It is truly an honor to be recognized as a “Top Workplace”, not just because of the recognition, but also that it speaks to our fundamental belief that everything we do is about people. We are Blessed to be able to work with great people – both clients and employees.”
M&S Engineering is a professional engineering services firm whose mission is to provide our clients with quality, efficient services at the greatest overall value. With registered engineers in electrical , civil, structural and MEP engineering disciplines and a host of experienced field personnel, M&S can fully meet the needs of its clients by allowing them to engage a single firm for many of their engineering, design, consultation, planning and analytical needs. “We put together a great team and began working with some excellent clients, we are all about the people – both those we work for and those who work for us. The customer relationships we form are ultimately more important to us than the business,” says Strimple. The full-service engineering and design firm has grown from a two-man shop in 1999 to a statewide, multimillion-dollar business employing 120 people.
Earlier this year M&S issued the August Edition of the Building Texas Newsletter, we asked several employees what they liked about working at M&S. The most frequent response was, “because of the people”. Jerod Mott, a Project Engineer who has been working at the firm for over 6 years said, “I enjoy working at M&S because I feel like part of a family here. My coworkers invest in me not only through skill training, but get to know me as a person. M&S encourages honesty and hard work as well as provides family-friendly policies knowing that home-life affects work-life.” It is this type of understanding that many of the employees tout as a refreshing change from what each has seen in the world of business.
