|This is the second of three reservoirs designed for the private use by Mr. Jim Pierce’s estate, M&S Engineering designed the three earthen dams to impound this new 200 acre-foot lake system on the True Ranch. The project included primary concrete outfalls for each of the three dams and an main emergency spillway for flood control. M&S provided all requisite design services, permitting, flood plain management. Additionally we provided all coordination with Hays County and TCEQ Dam Safety personnel. |
Engaged by Jim Pierce of Alexandria, Virginia to size impoundment, primary spillway, and emergency spillway for a 200 acre foot reservoir in Hayes County, Texas. Generally, the work included topographic survey of the reservoir location, volumetric calculations, computing various storm flow scenarios, classify proposed impoundment in accordance with Dam Safety criteria, sizing primary and emergency spillways for passing the appropriate storm flows, coordination and approval from the TCEQ Dam Safety Group, development of plans and specifications, coordination and approval from Hayes County, utility relocation, and construction management.
