Rivery 138kV Substation Transformer Additions

As part of GUS’s strategy to reduce transformation charges from the LCRA, Georgetown Utilities Systems removed the T1 power transformer belonging to LCRA and installed a new GUS 138/26.18kV 46.6MVA power transformer at the existing Rivery substation. Also included was the addition of (1) 25kV vacuum total breaker and associated protective relaying for the new transformer and total breaker. M&S Engineering design personnel provided all engineering design associated with the installation of the new T1 and 25kV total breaker. Services provided by M&S also included; project management, system studies, equipment specifications, construction support, budgeting and cost control, start up, and project oversight for installation of 40MW transformer to existing 138kV Substation in Central Texas.
